When bad things happen to good cubicals…

Posted in funny at February 15th, 2008 / 2 Comments »

I was in the office in FL this week and found this poor, abused and battered office cubical. UGH!IMG_0273.JPG

This weekend Natalie and I spent the weekend in Burbank, CA for our 6th Anniversary. Natalie actually surprised me with the Macbook Air so here we are and it truly is the hotness. It’s everything I’ve wanted in my MBP and everything my MBP isn’t but all in all I’m super stoked with it.More on the laptop after a weeks worth of usage.

I currently own an Macbook Pro and I’m 100% happy with it. When I travel or work away from home I’m always finding myself dreading lugging around my laptop. It’s not that its bulky but after lugging it around the airport all day (I’m cheep I fly coach) it’s more pain than pleasure.

I like to consider myself a minimalist so when Apple announced the Macbook Air I decided it’s the perfect companion for my mobile life. It’s light and the fact it has limited ports doesn’t bother me. (thats why we have USB hubs).

So if anyone wants to purchase a 3 month old Macbook Pro let me know. I need to make some room for my new business expense.

I’ve always been an huge fan of The Simpsons. But the most recent episode (That 90’s show) has to be one of my all time favorites. It featured guest like Weird Al and Kurt Loder but what made this so funny was the spoofs on 90’s popular music from Nirvana, The Verve, Semisonic, Color Me Bad and Bush

This episode was about the untold past of Homer and Marge. Below are some images and the highlights of the episode

Harmony laid RMB doesn’t make sense in this cruel world. So its on to “Guitar Rock utilizing neologist grunge energy” or Grunge. Introducing “Sadgasm”

xcache to the rescue

Posted in Technology at January 29th, 2008 / No Comments »

This past two weeks have been a roller coaster ride from hell. At Smartphone Experts we’ve fallen victim to the plague of web traffic growth.

One of our servers started trashing under heavy load. Nothing worked to fix the problem.

  • We added more ram
  • Moved assets to a separate server
  • Optimized queries

Still the trashing continued.

After installing xcache our graph looks like this:

now my life is back to normal — Thanks xcache

Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience & GraceFoo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
Honestly this album does it right. It’s been quite some time that I’ve been able to put the CD in and just hit play until it stops. I highly recommend it!

In the beginning…

Posted in Random at January 29th, 2008 / No Comments »

So I’ve been asking myself to write a blog and I’ve finally answered myself with this blog. So you’re asking what can you expect from reading this blog? In short a little bit of everything
Topics include:

  • Sports
  • Photography
  • Computer programming (career)
    • Network administration (career)
    • MySQL
    • Ruby
    • PHP
    • Apache
  • Apple computer
  • Odd videos

Another thing you can expect while reading this blog:
I’m the worst speller around and my grammar sucks just as badsucks just as badly. As your reading my posts please ignore what you can’t correct, trust me I’ve been trying to fix these problems ever sense I zoned out in the 3rd grade. I’m using this blog to improve my grammar and spelling so sit back and try to enjoy the ride.

Thanks for visting!

Me
